The Acrilex Craquelê Range includes various products designed to create crackled effects on rigid surfaces such as wood, ceramics, plaster, MDF, and canvas. This range features Craquelex Paint, Craquelê Varnish, and Craquelex Color, each with specific characteristics to meet different finishing needs.
Craquelex Paint: Craquelex Paint is acrylic-based and ready to use. It is ideal for creating a decorative crackled effect and can be applied with a brush, sponge, or spatula on surfaces prepared with Matte Acrylic Paint, Matte PVA Craft Paint, or Metal Colors. The crackled effect appears after about 2 hours and varies depending on the thickness of the applied layer. For best results, it is recommended to use the Craquelex Paint Base. Note: Do not apply on flexible surfaces. It can be diluted with water.
Craquelê Varnish: Craquelê Varnish is water-soluble and should be used with Matte Acrylic Paints, Metal Colors, or Matte PVA Craft Paint. For a crackled effect, prepare the surface with the desired base color, and once dry, apply a layer of varnish. Then, before the varnish dries, apply a thin layer of acrylic paint in a contrasting color (slightly diluted with water). Full drying occurs within 24 hours.
Craquelex Color: Craquelex Color is a kit that includes a Base Varnish and a Crackling Varnish in the chosen color. Ready to use, it is applied in two stages: first, apply the Base Varnish nº1 on the prepared surface, allowing drying between layers. After complete drying, apply the Crackling Varnish nº2 in a single layer. The crackled effect appears after drying. For surfaces other than the recommended ones (wood, MDF, plaster, ceramics, and glass), a prior test is advised.
The Acrilex Craquelê Range offers versatility and creative freedom to transform surfaces into unique decorative pieces with an artistic crackled finish.
